Did you know that more working days are lost each year due to poor mental health than to any physical illness or injury? Are you aware how many days of absence in your company are due to stress and depression? Are you confident that you are supporting your employees in how to manage their mental health needs?
During my 25 years in the field of mental heath I have been involved in delivering training and presentations and group work. I really enjoy facilitating individuals to develop a greater understanding of themselves and am comfortable delivering to small or large groups as I have experience of both. I have had many years of facilitating group work, have delivered content for a diploma course, run stress management training for newly qualified teachers, run workshops to middle leaders on effective communication and solution focused techniques in the workplace and have presented to parents and students on managing stress during exams.
The aim of any training I deliver is for participants to come away with knowledge and practical tips and techniques they can use.
Specialist areas include:
- Anxiety and Stress
- Effective Communication
- Understanding Depression
- Solution Focused Techniques at Work
- How to Sleep Better
- Confidence and Self Esteem
- Assertiveness Training
All of the training and workshops I deliver are bespoke and I tailor the training to meet the needs of your organisation. The first step is for me to meet with you to discuss your requirements and the most important question I ask is “what is the hoped for outcome in providing this training?” This informs how I structure the session itself and makes sure I am working toward the goal that will best benefit your organisation.
It may be that you want your staff to be better equipped to deal with work place stress, or for them to develop a clearer understanding of communication skills. You may want your middle leaders to have skills to effectively support the staff in their teams, and have ways of encouraging success. You may work with young people and be aware that the number of children seeking support from the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) has doubled in the last two years and want to help them learn to manage stress and anxiety, friendship issues and to develop resilience.
All of these trainings are brief and cost effective. The most important aspect is for participants to leave the session knowing they have practical ways to support their own mental health along with clear understandings of what can impact emotional well being.
