Which issues can you help with?

Depression, low mood, anxiety and stress, panic attacks, phobias, OCD, ill health, addictions, trauma, abuse, PTSD, communication and relationship issues, pain, anger and bereavement.

How will I know which approach you will use?

After our initial contact it may be that your individual need suggests a particular approach in which case I will discuss that with you.

However, as you read the descriptions of each approach, you will see many overlaps between each one. They all use goal setting, imagery, narrative, story, metaphor, projection and body work to some extent. There are differences obviously, but nothing that makes working in a way that integrates them problematic and I offer them all integratively as well as individually.

You may have heard of the efficacy of Human Givens or the power of Hypnotherapy or the advantage of Dramatherapy and wish to work specifically with a particular approach, I am happy to do that also. It is important that you know what to expect from therapy and we will discuss that in your first session.

Do I get to choose which approach you will use?

During your first session you can let me know if you have a preferred approach or which one appeals to you most and why. As mentioned above, it may be that you are happy for me to work in a way that integrates the approaches but this will be discussed and what you can expect from each approach explained.

How many sessions will I need?

My aim is for us to work together to enable you to feel better in as few sessions as possible. It is important for you to be able to feel better and get on with living your life in a way that works for you without the need for a lengthy commitment to therapy.

How will I know when to stop?

All of the work we will do together will be based on setting clear therapy goals. I may at times use assessment tools so that we can both see how those goals are being achieved. You can be reassured that we will both know when our work together is completed.

What if I don’t know what the problem is so don’t have a clear goal in mind?

Low mood, depression, anxiety and trauma (to name a few) can make life feel very confusing. Some clients arrive in therapy not quite knowing why they feel the way they do, others have an idea but every single one of them wants to know how to feel better. “Feeling better” is in itself a goal and together we can take it from there.

What safeguards are there for me and my personal information?

I receive regular supervision in line with the requirements of my professional bodies. I am insured and have an enhanced DBS certificate for the safeguarding of children and adults.

When we begin work, you will be given some printed information so you know what to expect. One of these is a confidentiality agreement so you have a clear understanding of how I handle and manage your information. I am GDPR registered and comply with the conditions as stated by my professional bodies and the Information Commissioners Office.

How much do the sessions cost?

It is likely that your first session will be around 90 minutes and then after that move to 50 minutes.

All sessions will cost £60.00. Under 18s charged at £50.00.
